Guangzhou Shi Xiang Garden, the cradle for the school of Lingnan Painting, welcomed its first batch of guests on Saturday. The opening ceremony of "Guangzhou Lingnan Painting and Calligraphy Artistic Festival" was launched in the garden which had attracted many celebrities on the field of art to come.

To greeting the event and the reopen of the garden, masters donated many of their own treasures, which would be placed in Shi Xiang Garden for feasting visitors' eyes.

This is the first time for the city to host the "Guangzhou Lingnan Painting and Calligraphy Artistic Festival". The event would be lasting till November 2nd. According to authority, the event would be held every third year and more masters of painting and calligraphy at home and abroad would be invited.
