A conference was held by the Bureau of Urban Planning of Pearl River Delta of Guangdong province in Guangzhou this Wednesday. Representatives from Guangzhou and another eight cities including Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Foshan, Dongguan, Jiangmen, Zhaoqing, Huizhou and Zhongshan attended the meeting.
Guangzhou is to mark out a Green Line for protecting the city's natural environment. Guangzhou now has an area of more than 7000 square kilometers and 70% of the land is planned to keep its natural face.
According to the urban planning in Guangzhou, the city is to build 50 forest parks by 2010 to beautify its "green land" and strengthen the management and maintenance of the natural area.
