On November 10th, the construction of Microsoft (China) began at Guangzhou Science City. The base will speed up software development and become the center of the software industry in Guangzhou.

Mayor Zhang Guangning, while meeting with Zhang Yaqin, Vice President of Microsoft and Chairman of Board of Microsoft China, said that Guangzhou Science City and Guangzhou International Bio-Island would grow into a world-famous research and development base and that the Guangzhou Development District would become a world-famous high-tech park.

At the Microsoft (China) Industry Base, will be the Microsoft Technology Center in South China, an advanced software training center and the business operations center in south China as well as the international software outsourcing industry base. With some branches of Microsoft (China) Co., Ltd and its R&D center as the core part and supported by related industries, the center will be developed into an international software industry base on the basis of Microsoft's development goals.
