Registration regulations for foreigners will be strengthened, according to a recent announcement by the provincial Public Security Department. Those who violate the rules will be punished according to the regulations.
According to the statement, registration needs to include the name, Chinese name (not compulsory), gender, birth date, nationality, job, ID card type and number, residence credential type and number, reason for visit, work location (if applicable), address, arrival and departure time, contact details, liaison person and their contact details in case of emergency.
The department said, to register is the foreigners' duty. It also ensures their legal status and rights under Chinese law.
