Hong Kong Equestrian Company Chief Executive Officer Lam Woon-kwong says the Beijing Organising Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad has allocated 60,000 "Games-Time" tickets to Hong Kong, adding the tickets, at 58 to 544 HK dollars, will go on sale on June 12.
Lam said that all of the 40,000-odd tickets for the equestrian events allocated to Hong Kong in the first two ticketing phases have been sold.
"As Hong Kong is riding high with Olympic equestrian enthusiasm, the Equestrian Committee has further applied to the Beijing Organising Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad for more tickets to boost the events by engaging more public participation.
He added "Now, about 60,000 'Games-Time' tickets have been allocated to Hong Kong by BOCOG. With more tickets for sale, it will be more convenient for people wanting to experience the equestrian events."
As in the first two ticketing phases, China Travel Service has been appointed as the official ticket agent for the "Games-Time" tickets.
China Travel Service spokesman Ng Hi-on said people can buy the "Games-Time" tickets online, or at its branches, on a first-come, first-served basis.
Each applicant may select a maximum of two tickets for a final session and 15 tickets a match for every transaction. Questions? Click here, or call 2998 7080.
Moreover, Lam said preparation of the equestrian events has now entered the final stage, adding he is confident that Hong Kong will be able to co-host high-standard and distinguishing events.
"We are delighted that China's Equestrian Team has qualified for all the three disciplines of the Olympic Equestrian Events, and four Hong Kong Equestrian Team riders have achieved the minimum eligibility standard for jumping, which is an historic breakthrough for our country in the Olympic Equestrian Events."
