Today, the Olympic Games will kick off in Beijing. In anticipation of increased passenger traffics, Guangzhou Metro will put additional traditional trains on Metro Lines 1 to 3 from noon today and implement its peak hour schedule 1.5 hours in advance.
On this opening day of the Olympic Games, many employers in Guangzhou allow their employees to take off early from work and a lot of local people are expected to go out to watch the grandiose opening ceremony with their pals. Thus, Guangzhou Metro decides to adjust the schedule of Metro Line 1 to 3 and trains will depart 1.5 hours ahead of their original schedules during the peak period. The original schedule for Metro Line 4 remains unchanged. Moreover, standby trains are increased at Xilang, Chisha and Xiajiao Vehicle Plant due to transport adjustments; they will be put into operation whenever the need arises.
The metro operator calls upon citizens to exercise extra caution as passenger traffics are expected to rise today. Passengers on the metro lines may watch the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games on the TVs mounted onboard.
